Highlights of my Day

Ok, so it's a little sad when the highlight of my day (and actually it's been a pretty good day) is Clare going poopy in the potty! I think with Corey and Lilly off to England now, Clare is really embracing the role of "the big girl." She's had several of her naps in a big girl bed that's in her room and she's been doing great with going "wee's" in the potty so today I started her off with underwear. She wet through her first pair in about 4 minutes but has only had one other partial accident all day and has managed to tell me every time she needed to go. I'm so proud of her! Such a big girl!

The highlight of my day yesterday was learning that I'd been approved as a volunteer photographer for an organization known as Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. It's an organization that offers families free photography services when they have a baby who is dying. The thought is heartwrenching but the testimonials of parents who've needed the services were so heartwarming that I really wanted to be involved. I submitted my application and a link to my website so that it could be reviewed by a panel of photographers so it's a real honor to find out that they think my work is good enough that I can represent them. So, now I just wait for a call. My first time volunteering will be shadowing another photographer so I can see how a hospital session goes. I hope I have the strength to do it without breaking down. I know how incredibly blessed I am with my 4 happy, healthy kiddos and I hope to be able to help someone else in a very small way that hasn't had the same great fortune.
